Background
Malaysian Forestry Conference (MFC) is a platform to exchange thoughts, and information and share experiences related to the administration, management, planning, and development of the forestry sector in Malaysia. The MFC started in 1966 and was held every three (3) years in rotation between the Forestry Department Peninsular Malaysia (FDPM), Sabah Forestry Department (SabahFD), and the Sarawak Forest Department (SarawakFD). In the last two (2) rotations of the MFC, SabahFD hosted the 17th MFC in 2014, while SarawakFD in 2018 for the 18th MFC. The symbol of the MFC has been handed over to FDPM during the 18th MFC Closing Ceremony where FDPM will be the host for the 19th MFC. FDPM was the MFC organizer in 2011 in Malacca City. The location of the 19th MFC in 2022 was decided during the Peninsular Malaysia State Forestry Directors' Conference (Persidangan Pengarah-pengarah Perhutanan Negeri Semenanjung Malaysia -PPNSM) that held on 20 to 24 November 2019.
