"Rakan Pembimbing Perkhidmatan Awam" is the specific term used for officers appointed as peer guides, as stated in the Human Resource Service Circular – Psychological Management Section PO. 3.1.1: Guidelines for the Application of Psychology in Human Resource Management in the Public Sector. These peer guides act as agents driving the implementation of a "First Class" work culture in the public service. They were established with the aim of providing an intermediary medium to allow officers to function effectively in assisting human resource managers at all levels of the organization. Additionally, these peer guides also have the vision of contributing to human capital development efforts within human resource management. The nameAKRAB is a combination of basic compulsory values for a counselling associate, namely Honesty (Amanah), Commitment (Komitment), Rational (Rasional), Morals (Akhlak) dan Smart (Bestari).

The Peninsular Malaysia Forestry Policy is a new policy formulated based on a review of the National Forestry Policy 1978 (Amendment 1992). This policy serves as a guideline to ensure the conservation of forest resources in Peninsular Malaysia. It is a core element in managing and developing forest resources sustainably in line with the socio-economic and environmental needs of the country. The formulation of this policy also takes into account new developments in current forestry issues, ensuring that the forestry sector continues to advance and remain relevant in the future. A total of 10 objectives with nine (9) main pillars have been drafted and arranged to achieve the objectives set out in the policy. Based on these main pillars, 27 strategies and 125 action plans have been developed to assist departments/agencies in Peninsular Malaysia directly involved in planning and managing the nation's forest resources toward achieving sustainable forest management. The policy is formulated with a focus on matters related to forest resource sustainability, conservation of forest resource diversity, sustainability of forest services, economic welfare and industrial continuity, legislation and enforcement, inclusiveness and stakeholder engagement, social welfare and indigenous communities, research, development, commercialization and innovation, as well as an enlightened society. |
The Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia is responsible for the management, planning, protection and development of the Permanent Reserved Forests (PRFs) in accordance with the Malaysia Forest Policy 2020, Peninsular Malaysia Forest Policy 2020 and the National Forestry Act (NFA) 1984.
Forestry Department Of Peninsular Malaysia Headquarters
The Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia Headquarters is responsible for the formulation of forestry policies, providing technical advice and assistance to the State Forestry Departments with regard to forest planning, management and development, forest harvesting and wood-based industries, forest operational studies as well as training and human resource development.
There are two (2) Deputy Director-Generals at Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia Headquarters namely the Deputy Director-General of Forestry Peninsular Malaysia (Policy and Planning) and Deputy DirectorGeneral of Forestry Peninsular Malaysia (Operations and Technical), each responsible for six (6) divisions respectively. In addition, two (2) Units and another Division are directly accountable to the Director-General of Forestry.
Policy And Planning Sector
The Deputy Director-General of Forestry Peninsular Malaysia (Policy and Planning) is responsible for forest planning and economics, forest resource management, forest silviculture and forest biological conservation, forest eco park and forest state park development, international forestry affairs as well as forest plantation development and protection.
Operations And Technical Sector
The Deputy Director-General of Forestry Peninsular Malaysia (Operations and Technical), is responsible for administration and finance, forest engineering, technical and wood industry, forest enforcement, forestry training and human resource empowerment as well as information technology systems development.
State Forestry Department
The State Forestry Department is responsible in the management and development of forest resources, forest harvesting, forest revenue collection and the development of wood-based industries in state. The State Forestry Department is divided into Forest Operations and Forest Development Divisions and supported by District/Provincial Forest Offices.
Forest Operations Division
Forest Operations Division responsible for administration, forest law enforcement, forest revenue collection as well as to coordinate and maintain liaison with the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia Headquarters, other departments/agencies and statutory bodies.
Forest Development Division
Forest Development Division responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring of forest management and development activities, including biodiversity conservation, ecotourism development and forest rehabilitation as well as the preparation and implementation of the State Forest Management Plan.
District Forest Office
District/Provincial Forest Office responsible for administration, regulating forest harvesting operation, forest revenue collection and forest law enforcement. The office is also responsible for implementing forest management and development activities including the management of forest eco-park and forest state park.
