JPSM's MS ISO 9001: 2008 certificate has expired on 14 September 2018. This certification has been replaced with MS ISO 9001: 2015 version effective 1st January 2021 and JPSM has held a series of workshops and courses from 2018 to 2020 for the preparation of documents and training.
The MS ISO 9001: 2015 document consists of Document 1: Quality Manual, Document 2: Main Process and Document 3: Supporting Process. The scope of certification in the JPSM Quality Management System is Sustainable Management of Round Timber Production for Natural Land Forests in Permanent Forest Reserves.
The internal audit will begin in April 2021 at the Headquarters of the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia (IPJPSM) and seven (7) State Forestry Departments (JPN) involved, which are Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak and Terengganu. These states are the main timber producing states in Peninsular Malaysia. Subsequently, an external audit by an independent certification body is expect to be done in August or September this year.
