Dicerorhinus sumatrensis is an extremely rare species in Peninsular Malaysia. It is also known as Sumatran rhinoceros which normally live in dense tropical forests in the Malay Peninsula, the Indonesian island of Sumatra and on Borneo (in both lowlands and highlands).
During the Forest Biodiversity Scientific Expedition of Gunung Stong Kelantan on the year 2002, this species was observed in that area. Unique among rhinoceros, the Sumatran rhinoceros is the smallest rhino in the world. A Sumatran rhinoceros is usually 1.0–1.5 meter in height and weights 600-950 kilogram. The Sumatran rhinoceros feeds twice a day with an average consumption of 50 kilogram of food a day and moves during the night.
