Thrips razanii is a new discovery for Peninsular Malaysia. This new species is named in recognition of the support provided by the former Director-General of the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia (FDPM), The Honourable Dato’ Razani Ujang in organising series of forest biodiversity scientific expeditions in Peninsular Malaysia.
